Quick answer
Search the ARRT's Verify Credentials directory by the technologist's first and last name. The result shows each credential, the date it is valid through, the continuing education period and any CQR period.
More than 75% of states have licensing laws for radiologic technology, and a technologist applies to each state for its license. Sonographers and nuclear medicine technologists can hold other registries' credentials too.

Five steps on the ARRT's own directory, from the search to a verification on ARRT letterhead.
Go to the ARRT's Verify Credentials page, the official directory of the medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals it certifies and registers.
Tip: The page can ask you to tick a box that confirms you are a person before the search runs.
Verify Credentials, ARRTEnter at least a few characters of the technologist's first and last names, then open the technologist's result.
Tip: Print a copy of the verification from the result.
The result lists each credential with its description, the Valid Thru date, the CE biennium and any CQR compliance period, beside the technologist's city, state and ZIP code.
Tip: Valid Thru is the technologist's annual renewal date, which falls on the last day of the birth month.
Search the ARRT's sanctioned list by name, or list everyone added in the past year or from one state. Public reprimands stay on it for one to three years; the ARRT does not publish private reprimands.
Tip: For a question about a name on the list, call 651.687.0048 and choose the option for ethics information.

An ARRT credential is not a state license: in some states a technologist also needs the state's license to work, and applies to the state for it.
Technologists renew ARRT certification and registration every year for $65, whatever the number of credentials, and report continuing education every two years.
